Police seek witnesses after collision kills OAP

AN 81 year old man died on 6th December from injuries sustained in an accident on Beauly Way, Romford, just before 5pm on Tuesday, 3rd December. He was hit by a car.

The pensioner had received treatment at the scene of the accident from the London Ambulance Service and was taken to hospital. His family were present when he died.

The driver stopped after the accident and is now helping police with their inquiries, which are being led by officers from the Roads and Transport Policing Command. Police are appealing for anyone who saw the accident or captured it on a dash cam to come forward and help the investigation.

Detective Sergeant Rob Groombride from the Metropolitan Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit said, “The police investigation is ongoing and officers are working to obtain CCTV and other footage that is essential to the investigation. I am appealing for anyone who saw the collision but has not yet spoken with police to contact us.”
